PLAN OF SALVATION

HOME
  1. The plan of Salvation
Let's come on in and see what's God plan is for us concerning his plan of us being saved as in the book of Acts 2:38

PLAN OF SALVATION

3 STEPS TO SALVATION

    1. REPENTANCE:
Turning away from doing what we used to do and no longer doing it. The sinful nature does a            180° turn around, walking into the light and out of the darkness.God forgives us of our sins when             we repent. We repent because of sin.

               A. Sin
                   1. Psalm 51:3-5 Born into sin
                   2. Isaiah 59:2  Sin has separated us from God
                   3. Romans 5:12-14  All have sinned

               B. Repent
                   1.  II Corinthians 7:9-11 Having a godly sorrow
                   2. Acts 3:19  Your sins may be blotted out
                   3.  Acts 17:30  God is no longer ignoring our sin…we must repent

                   4. Acts 26:20  Works toward repentance

    2. BAPTISM:
It is symbolic of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. Our sins are washed away.

         A. Requirement
              1. John 3:3-5 Cannot enter the Kingdom of God without it
              2. I Peter 3:20-21 Baptism does save us
              3. Mark 16:16 Shall be saved after baptism

         B. Breakdown of Matthew 28:19 – Father, Son, and Holy Ghost…Baptizing in the
              name  (singular), not names (plural)
              1. Name of the Father
                  a. John 5:43  Jesus said I have come in my Father’s name (JESUS)
                  b. John 10:30  Jesus said I and my Father are one (JESUS)
c.John 14:8-9  If you have seen me you have seen the Father (JESUS)

              2. Name of the Son
                  a. Matthew 1:21 Son, His name (JESUS), shall save people from their sin
                  b. Luke 1:31  The Son shall be called by His name (JESUS)

               3. Name of the Holy Ghost
                   a. John 14:26 Is sent in Jesus name (JESUS)

        C. Distinction
1.Colossians 3:17 Do all things in Jesus name
                      2. Acts 4:12 Jesus name is the only name to be saved into
                      3. Luke 24:47 Baptism is for the remission of sins in His name
                      4. Acts 2:38 Baptize in Jesus name
                      5. Romans 6:3 We are baptized in Jesus name
                      6. Galatians 3:27 For you whom have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ
                      7. Acts 8:16, Acts 10:48, Acts 19:5 Occurrence of baptisms

***NO PERSON IN THE ENTIRE BIBLE WAS EVER BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF THE
FATHER, SON, AND HOLY GHOST***

    3.     HOLY GHOST:
It is a necessity for His Spirit to dwell in you so that you may live   in eternity with Him.

            A.  Absolutely Necessary
                 1.  John 3:5 Must be born of the Spirit
                 2.  Romans 8:9 Without His Spirit, you are none of His
                 3.  John 20:22 Jesus said to receive the Holy Ghost

            B.  Signs of Speaking in Tongues
                 1.  Mark 16:17 Shall speak with new tongues
                 2.  Acts 2:38 Shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost
                 3.  Luke 11:13 Gives the Holy Ghost to them who ask

             C.  Tongues
                   1.  Isaiah 28:11 Speaking in anther tongue
                   2.  Isaiah 33:19 Prophesying about tongues
                   3.  Acts 2:4 Spoke in tongues
                   4.  Acts 10:44-46 By hearing tongues they knew they had the Holy Ghost
                   5.  Acts 19:6 Spoke with tongues and prophesied.

              D.  Interpretation of Tongues
                   1.  There is no need to interpret when first receiving the Holy Ghost.  It is not found anywhere in the Bible that interpretation was given when a person first received the Holy Ghost.
                   2.  The Church of Corinth had a problem with being out of order when speaking in tongues.  So if all is quiet and only one person stands up speaking in tongues, there should be an interpretation.
                   3.  II Corinthians 14:33 lets us know that God is not in the midst of confusion (verse 34), but that does not mean that a woman is not allowed to speak. Instead, the Corinthian’s were having problems with women being out of order, same as with tongues.
                   4.  II Corinthians 14:29-40 tells us to forbid not to speak with tongues, just be descent and in order.
